All Work, No Play
No absurdities or invented reader mail this week, just a few more installations of “I listened to this CDC thing so you don’t have to,” plus a podcast discussion on the week’s healthcare news.
A few items of note:
This Thursday, I did a half-hour on Barron’s Live on the healthcare news of the week, including Covid-19 updates and what to expect from next week’s announcement on whether Medicare will cover the first new Alzheimer’s therapy in nearly two decades. You can listen here, or on any podcast app.
On Friday, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention held a rare press conference to talk about high Covid-19 hospitalization rates among children. I listened in and wrote about it here.
The Food and Drug Administration and the CDC this week both signed off on some changes to the rules around Covid-19 vaccines. Here’s an item on the meeting of the CDC’s vaccine advisors, where they discussed why they may be meeting less frequently in the future.
Nothing more from the imagined Mr. Rapaport. Maybe next week.
That’s all, folks.
